As the final phase of the North Campus Enhancement package, the Cogen Office / Shop Addition project provides for the construction of an 8,000-10,000 square foot building to support the existing Cogeneration Plant facility. The addition will house offices, clean room, parts and chemical storage, and shops. The existing work areas at the Cogeneration Plant are inadequate and hamper productivity (due to excess noise, site access, limited space, and inherent cleanliness issues). The site designated by the Campus Master Plan for the Cogen Addition would be very visible and prominently located on the new Tomás Rivera Drive (at Student Center Drive) near the new Matthews Street Garage and the new residence halls. SpawGlass was selected as the CM@R for the North Campus Enhancement package and has received NTP for pre-construction services for this project. With the design 20% complete, the site has been determined insufficient and too expensive for construction. New alternate sites and/or a new scope for the Addition will be evaluated and developed as a separate project from the Campus Utility Upgrade Projects. Status: The project is on hold until site, scope and budget are better defined.
