SUBJ: Construction Reminder – Concho Street Redevelopment and North LBJ Bus Loop Projects
Construction of the Concho Street Redevelopment project is scheduled to begin within the next two weeks. The project requires closure of Concho Street from Moon Street to South LBJ Street; however, Edward Gary Street will remain open to traffic. Access to the four residence halls along Concho Street will be temporarily impacted by this important Campus Master Plan project. Completion of this project is scheduled for December 2008. We appreciate your patience during this construction process. Questions about the construction can be directed to Bill Tomlinson at 245-2202 or bt12@txstate.edu.
Construction of the North LBJ Bus Loop is scheduled to begin within the next two weeks. Completion is scheduled for December 2008. The project requires closure of North LBJ Street and portions of the streets that intersect the construction site. The second and third floors of the Pleasant Street Parking Garage will be inaccessible and closed for the duration of the project. The ground floor of the Pleasant Street Parking Garage will remain open and accessible using State Street. To accommodate the loss of parking during construction, the lot at the corner of Peques and Sessom will be converted to a Red Restricted lot. Parking Services will operate a van shuttle service to assist faculty and staff onto campus. Faculty and staff may also use the Bobcat Tram system to come to campus from the Peques Street parking lot.
Van Shuttle Service
Van shuttles will run in a continuous loop from the Peques/Sessom Lot to the stairwell nearest N. LBJ Street on the first level of the Pleasant Street Garage. During peak hours (7:00 a.m. until 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m.), shuttles will run approximately every 8 minutes. During off-peak times, shuttles will run approximately every 15 minutes.Bobcat Tram Service
The Bobcat Tram campus loop route will be serving this stop approximately every 7 to 10 minutes from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., every 15 minutes from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., then every 30 minutes from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. This route will take you directly to the LBJ Student Center.
Additional details about the construction area:
N. LBJ will be closed to traffic on the campus side of the control booth.
Pedestrians and bikers entering campus from N. LBJ Street will be detoured through the Music Building Parking Lot (R-12) and driveway to a temporary path east of the Music Building, leading to Pleasant Street and Old Main Drive.
Matthews Street will be open for westbound traffic but closed for eastbound traffic from Elm Street.
Pickard Street will be closed to traffic.
Pleasant Street will be closed to traffic west from the Pleasant Street Parking Garage, first floor entrance.
We appreciate your patience during the construction. Questions about parking and the van shuttle service can be directed to Stephen Prentice, 245-2887, SP04@txstate.edu . Questions regarding the construction project can be directed to Bill Tomlinson, 245-2202, BT12@txstate.edu.
