The project will add a new two-level wing on the existing Family & Consumer Sciences Building. Issues with site and Campus Master Plan implementation have been resolved. An Architect was selected, and a contract executed. After evaluation of possible construction delivery methods, the University and TSUS determined competitive sealed proposals (CSP) to be the most appropriate for this project. The final program document and budget were eventually issued in January 2008. The Program budget was later decreased when the Architect requested an additional fee due to an increase in scope (size) of the program. After multiple stakeholder meetings, the A-E has refined the floor plans and exterior architecture to be compatible with the original building and environment. Final Design Development plans (35%) and project budget were approved by the Board in August 2008.
Status: The construction is 35% complete.
