Summary: Phase II- Matthews Street and Speck Street Parking Garage Projects

Status: Schematic designs 20% complete, CM cost estimates and site limitations options for a 740 and 900
space parking garage with office space for parking services support are being evaluated.

The Board selected Carl Walker, Inc. of Frisco to design the project at the November 2005 Board Meeting. Design of Phase II was delayed in order to complete Phase I (Speck Garage) design and start construction. This project is one of five in the North Campus Enhancement package. SpawGlass was selected as the CM@R for the package and has provided pre-construction services for this project without a contract. Survey and Geotechnical testing of the site revealed very unstable and unsupportive soil conditions requiring special site prep and foundation considerations.
